Leadership Burbank

Help create the community you want, while becoming the leader you truly are.

2024 Class Project: A Cause for Paws

Project Overview:

Leadership Burbank class of 2023-24, is excited to announce its class project to help the Burbank Animal Shelter. The shelter has been providing animal control services since the 1950’s. Their mission is to return lost animals to owners, to find loving homes for stray animals and to control overpopulation through consistent spay/neuter efforts. They strive to eliminate animal suffering by educating the public and enforcing the humane treatment of animals.

About the Project:

Help us transform the Burbank Animal Shelter into a better facility for the animals in their care! Your donations will help with major renovations, including a dog run and extra adoption areas…allowing the animals to get more play and exercise and more families to be able to come meet animals at the same time. Watch the video for more information:

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED LB24 AT THEIR PET-FRIENDLY FUNDRAISING EVENT ON APRIL 13TH AT JOHNNY CARSON PARK

Looking to get involved? The Burbank Animal Shelter is supported by the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter

Looking to adopt? The Burbank Animal Shelter has many animals up for adoption. LB24’s favorite is Astrid.

Meet Astrid, one of the shelter’s longest residents:

Astrid is a LARGE Armenian Gampr weighing in at a healthy 150 pounds. At 3 years old, Astrid is still a puppy at heart and seems to be unaware of her larger than life size. More often than not she can be found lost in her own world, running around, jumping in the air trying to catch some wind under her paws. Astrid must have a vivid imagination as she loves to just hang out on her own, keeping herself entertained. She enjoys simple things like a dip in the kiddie pool and a fluffy squeaky toy. Astrid is an amazing dog and a staff favorite at the Burbank Animal Shelter.
