LEADERSHIP BURBANK 2004-2005 HOSTS FUNDRAISER FOR

THE BURBANK TEMPORARY AID CENTER
   

      (May, 2005, Burbank, CA) – Leadership Burbank, class of 2005 hosted a fundraiser mixer for the new building project for the Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC) on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 5:30 -7:30pm.  The event was held at the Bob and Delores Hope Conference Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and featured live music, speakers, food, cocktails and a silent auction.

     After taking a class trip to BTAC a few months ago and seeing the goods and services that BTAC provides,  Project coordinator Terry Walker said “when it was time to think of a class project that would benefit the Burbank community, this was a natural fit.”

     Leadership Burbank is a community development program that brings together a cross section of people working in the Burbank area, who, as emerging leaders hone their skills in understanding how a community can thrive when various components of that community get together in a shared vision.

     The Burbank Temporary Aid Center is a community service organization that helps Burbank’s homeless, low-income families and individuals meet their need for food, utility assistance, transportation, emergency shelter and other necessities of life.
